Remembering Palestinian and Jewish civilians killed – Desmond and Leah Tutu Foundation

The South African Jewish Voices for a Just Peace (JVJP) plaque unveiling event on 23 October 2014 in Cape Town was an historic landmark. The ripples from this gathering of human beings who support human rights will have positive transformatory consequences way beyond the location of the event itself. This event, like all JVJP events, appeals to the conscience and basic humanity in everyone and calls us to the attention of human rights abuses. At this plaque unveiling event, a Rabbi, an Imam, an Archbishop and members of South African Jewish Voices for a Just Peace stood together, united by a common desire and will to stand up and speak out for humanity and against human rights abuses. The event remembered the Palestinian and Israeli civilians killed during the recent 50 days of the military aggression in Israel-Palestine.
